Local Energy News is independently owned and operated by Mark Sardella, the co-founder of Local Energy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2003 to help communities prepare for the hardships of higher energy costs by developing their local energy resources. Under agreement with Local Energy, Mark utilizes the research carried out by the nonprofit to bring you news and information on the best practices for energy localization, including discussions of the leading impediments to it.
With our fossil energy resources in decline, and politicians still musing about nuclear energy and "clean coal", it is past time to restructure our energy systems such that they are dispersed, diverse, and make best use of the independent energy producers in our communities.
